Green Screening

This screenshot shows a green screen video inside aftereffects ready to be keyed out.

This screenshot shows me using the keylight plugin to key out the green area.

This video shows what it should look like once it has been keyed out and now you can start to composite things together.

This screenshot shows an image in the background which was added to the video once i had keyed out the green from it.

Tracking

Tracking screenshot

This screenshot shows my tracking scene which was created in PFtrack and then imported into Maya. In this scene you can see a 3d camera which has been animated using PFtrack to put CG elements into live action footage.

This screenshot shows a shot that has been sovled suing PFtrack which is software create by the pixel farm. It allows you to model objects in the video to help you to match CG elements into the video.

This screenshot shows PFtrack interface and what it looks like once it had just finished solving a shot. The next stage form here would to put a test object in to see if it had been a successful solve.

This screenshot shows how to import a video into Pftrack so you can start to motion-track the sequence and take it into Maya.

This screenshot shows the image sequence inside Pftrack now its ready to be track and solved.

This screenshot shows Pftrack solving the shot by tracking points in the image sequence.

This screenshot shows Pftrack still solving the scene but at a later time.

This screenshot shows Pftrack Solving the camera.

This shot shows pftrack after it has solved the camera and allows you to postion the grid where you want it and how the scene will look when exported to Maya.

This screenshot shows the exporting settings where you choose what 3d apllication you want it to go to.

3d Stuff

Screenshots

This screenshot shows moon integrated into the video with no shadows which is the next step into making it looking more realistic.

This screenshot shows a quick test render inside Maya, there is still a lot more to do but this is my first time doing this kind of work.

This screenshot shows moon with the trolly and shadows to help it look more integrated into the video. To get the lighting right i have used image base lighting with a panoramic and then used a directional light to cast shadows.

This screenshot shows a renderpass of the shadow on the floor which i will composite it inside after effects.

This screenshot shows the renderpass of the shadow on the character which will be composited inside of after effects with all of the renderpasses rendered from Maya.

This shot shows a test render of the trolly inside of Maya with shadows to help make it look more realistic. I do a lot of test renders to help me get an idea of what it will look like once i have finished the animation and rendered it out.

Other Screenshots

These screenshots are from a different scene!

This screenshot shows the animated camera which was created inside Pftrack and then exported to Maya. Also the is a ground plane to cast shadows and moon in the trolly shooting down the hill.

This screenshot shows moon in the trolly with shadows being casted onto the ground.

Other screenshots!

To help light our scene we used Image Based Lighting which uses an image to light the scene. When we was out shooting our videos we took panoramic shoots and later we stitched all the images together inside photoshop.
